“The works of the LORD are great,
sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
His work is honourable and glorious:
and His righteousness endureth forever.”
Psalm 111: 2, 3.

Many of these photos are of flowers, partly because I live in a wet, tropical place which has many wonderful flowers, partly because horticulture is my profession, and partly because some of the photos show the beautiful order and symmetry in nature. See also the “Divine Designs God’s Creation” page.

Dietes bicolor, South African Iris.

Dietes grandiflora, South African Iris. These plants are popular in Australia in gardening and roadside plantings because they flower repeatedly and are tough and adaptable regarding sun, shade and soil type. Interestingly, the Dietes genus is confined to South Africa, with the single exception of Dietes robinsoniana, which has a disjunct distribution in Lord Howe Island, off the east coast of Australia! D. robinsoniana is a larger plant with plain white flowers. The closely related genus, Moraea, has many beautiful flowers.
